On Thursday (Aug. 1), Simone Biles made history by clinching her second gold medal in individual all-around at the Paris 2024 Olympics. The other Black athletes followed suit.
Noah Lyles won his first-ever Olympic medal, while Julien Alfred and Thea Lafond did their big one for the Caribbean. Take a look at the full list of winners below.
Noah Lyles
Team USA’s Noah Lyles takes home gold in 100 meters, making him the first American man to win in 20 years. This is his first Olympic title of his career.
Julien Alfred
Julien Alfred put her country on the Olympic map after winning the first-ever medal for Saint Lucia, which was gold.
Sha’Carri Richardson
The legendary track star won the silver medal for Team USA in the women’s 100-meter race.
