Columbus Short Sentenced To One Year In Jail For Beating On His New Wife
New reports indicate that Columbus Short has been sentenced to several months in jail after hitting his wife, Aida Abramyan.
According to TMZ, this past Friday, the former Scandal star entered his plea in Los Angeles after getting arrested back in November 2017.
Prosecutors stated that he hit Abramyan during an argument which ultimately resulted in him receiving 36 months probation and domestic violence education. However, to the actor's dismay, he was already on probation for the 2014 bar fight which saw him knock out a man. Therefore, due to him violating his probation, his sentencing was increased to a year in jail.
The actor has well-documented problems with domestic vioelnce. He was reportedly fired from the massively successful TV drama Scandal following reports of domestic abuse and is also on probation for an older incident where he allegedly put a knife to his ex-wife's throat.
Though Short, himself, pleaded no contest to the domestic violence charge, his current wife is, somehow, telling a different story. In fact, she took to Twitter to share that she supports her husband and claims that the media's reports are all false.
