Wiz Khalifa Did Something Amazing for Students at His Old High School
Wiz Khalifa traveled back to Pittsburgh to do something special for the students of Taylor Allderdice High School this morning. The rapper returned to his alma mater where he gave out $45,000 worth of backpacks, and some words of encouragement.
“I love my school, I love Pittsburgh, and I love being able to spread some positivity and give the kids hope,” Khalifa said of surprising the students with 1,700 backpacks.
The “See You Again” rapper also motivated the youngsters to follow their dreams. “I just wanted to tell them to be themselves,” he explained. “Let them know that they’re doing the right thing right now… going to school and dreaming big, and just trying to figure it all out.”
Khalifa took pictures with the students and listened to some of them perform, though his goal wasn’t to inspire music careers. "It’s always good to push people forward in whatever they do," explained the 28-year-old father. "It was just another way of encouraging people to do what you want to do, live in the moment, and have fun."
