R. Kelly Preps White Panties Album

Singer says, "absolutely," he's recording a sequel to last year's Black Panties collection.

The Pied Piper of R&B still has his tunes fixated on women's lingerie. In a recent interview with magazineR. Kelly confirmed that he is working on a sequel to Black Panties, titled White Panties.

"Absolutely," he said, when asked if the rumors about a follow up were true. "It's called, 'White Panties,' and you can expect a whole other level."

Kellz dropped Black Panties in December, and despite the numerous side-eyes he received, its moved more than 300,000 copies to date, with 133,000 of those coming in during first-week sales.

"I always follow what my spirit tells me to do," he said elsewhere in the interview. "When I get into the studio I write from my heart. I try to write life and not songs. People live life, and when you write life, you're going to mess around and touch somebody's heart, and they'll relate to you and what you're singing about."

He said he's been inspired that way by Mary J. Blige. He's heading out on tour with her this year. "It's a very exciting thing when two people like Mary and me come together. It's never been done, but it kind of makes sense, and you're like, 'Wow!' And this is very exciting for me because I'm a fan of hers. I'm in the studio right now working on a song for me and Mary. I'm even looking forward to proposing that we do a whole album together," he said. "But this is the first I've mentioned it."

Still, he already has an album title in the works. "The King & Queen album," he called it. That's the name of their tour.

Dates for the road trip or the White Panties LP have yet to be announced.
