In this Tyler Perry production, Alfre Woodard plays matriarch Alice Pratt, a woman who raised her daughters, Andrea (played by Sanaa Lathan) and Pam (played by Taraji P. Henson), under strict Christian rule, but they've somehow gone astray in adulthood.
Andrea, who works with her husband, Chris (played by Rockmond Dunbar), at a construction corporation has begun an affair with Alice's best friend's son, William Carwright (played by Cole Hauser).
When Alice and her best friend, Charlotte Cartwright (played by Kathy Bates), travel on a road trip, chaos ensures. Are these families strong enough to get past this rough patch?
