O.J. Simpson may have been hard hit with tax troubles recently, but apparently his words can fetch thousands of dollars. TMZ is reporting that an original copy of Simpson’s hypothetical tell-all confessional book, If I Did It, is currently for sale on eBay for $250,000.
Back in November 2006, only 400,000 copies of the book were printed. Soon after its release the publishers were hit with overwhelming negative backlash from the public, so the remaining copies were recalled and destroyed.
But reportedly, several books still exist. One copy remains with the original publisher, News Corporation. In 2007, another was auctioned on eBay for $65,000 and now, the unearthing of this current copy will go to the highest bidder. It’s rumored that there could be several other original copies of If I Did It still in existence.
The auction for this copy of If I Did It closes at the end of February. The listing says that the full payment of $250,000 is required within 48 hours after the auction ends.
