Lupe Fiasco, Ludacris to Perform at Grammy Nominations Event

The two former Grammy winners will join Lady Gaga and LL Cool J for a star-studded special.

Hip hop is set to make a big mark at the Grammys next year, so it's only right that it helps set off Grammy season. Lupe Fiasco and Ludacris are slated to perform at the Grammy nominations announcement special.

Called The GRAMMY Nominations Concert Live!! — Countdown to Music’s Biggest Night, the annual special will be broadcast from the Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE on November 30 at 10 p.m. on CBS. Nominations for the 54th annual show will be announced by an all-star lineup of presenters, and there will be several live performances mixed in. Lupe and Luda, both past Grammy winners, are joining a star-studded performers lineup that already includes Lady Gaga, Sugarland and Jason Aldean. Meanwhile, LL Cool J will return as host. Additional performers and presenters will be announced leading up to the event.

Lupe's performance is definitely fitting, as his acclaimed album Lasers, which topped the charts when it dropped this past March, is set to have a major impact at the Grammys. The Chicago rapper is also releasing a new mixtape, Friend of the People, on Thanksgiving.

Meanwhile, after killing it at the 2011 BET Hip Hop Awards Cipher, Ludacris is prepping his new mixtape 1.21 Gigawatts: Back to the First Time for November 15.
