Three Suspects Arrested, Two Wanted in Connection to Julio Foolio’s Death

According to police, an ongoing feud spanning for years between rival gangs fueled the slaying.

On Monday (July 30), the Tampa Police Department announced that three suspects were arrested in connection with the murder of Julio Foolio, whose real name is Charles Jones. Two others remain at large. An ongoing feud spanning for years between rival gangs fueled the slaying.

The suspects were identified as Alicia Andrews, 21, Isaiah Chance Jr., 21, and Sean Gathright, 18. According to the news release, Andrews and Chance are charged with premeditated first-degree murder with a firearm and conspiracy to commit premeditated first-degree murder with a firearm. Gathright is charged with two counts of premeditated murder with a firearm, three counts of first-degree attempted premeditated murder with a firearm, and tampering with physical evidence.

“They are currently in the Duval County Pre-Trial Detention Center on murder charges, pending transfer to Tampa,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement on X (formerly known as Twitter). 

The suspects at large are Rashad Murphy, 30, and Davion Murphy, 27, Tampa Police Department said. They are wanted for first-degree murder and three counts of attempted first-degree murder.

As reported by BET, on Sunday (June 23), Julio Foolio was shot and killed at a Tampa, Florida, hotel parking lot while celebrating his 26th birthday. During a press conference, Tampa Police spokesperson Jonee Lewis revealed that two cars were shot at, and the gunfire hit four people. The three injured were treated at a nearby hospital, and their condition was reported as stable.
