What does "Beyond Bold" mean to you?

Women attending the Dorothy Height Luncheon Monday afternoon at BET Networks' Leading Women Defined conference found themselves challenged to define those two seemingly simple words, which are the theme of this year's summit. Beyond Bold sparked a conversation not only in the event space, but across Twitter as well.

In an assignment during the luncheon, event attendees, ranging from actress Tatiana Ali to author Crystal McCrary and Essence editor Susan Taylor, were asked to define Beyond Bold.

Beyond Bold means to “approach the unknown with the confidence as if it were already yours,” one group of attendees brainstormed together and tweeted.

“Know your worth and demand more #betlwd,” actress and attendee Regina King said.

Their definitions were heard, and readers quickly responded with their thoughts across the social-media platform.

#BeyondBold is having the courage to say no when every1 says yes!” @prmaven17 said.

“Being the change agent in your own leadership journey is #beyondbold #BETlwd” @TWHP added.
