Paul Mooney Suffering From Prostate Cancer
Paul Mooney is in the fight of his life. For a little over a year, the legendary comedian has been battling prostate cancer.
According to Rolling Out, rumors and assumptions were being spread about Mooney's health since he started using the assistance of a cane when he performs. The iconic funny man, 72, rose to stardom over 40 years ago when he became a writer for Richard Pryor. He has also written for groundbreaking TV shows like In Living Color, Sanford & Son and Chappelle's Show.
Although Mooney sometimes needs a wheelchair to get around, he still travels the country performing his comedy routines. But now he gets assistance from his brother, Rudy Moore. “I’ve been with Paul since the start of this thing,” Rudy explained.
The deterioration of Mooney's health was evident a month ago when he performed on The Arsenio Hall Show using his cane and not displaying his trademark lightening quick wit.
Mooney has yet to make a statement.
