SWV's Coko Shuts Down Jhené Aiko Shading Rumors
A picture speaks a thousand words, and Coko and Jhené Aiko are putting rumors to rest with their friendly flick.
Recently, SWV's Coko shut down suspicions of any R&Beef between her and the L.A.-native songstress. It all started last week when the ladies of SWV sat down for an interview with Coco Butter to review the latest works of other female artists currently topping the charts.
Coko, Taj and Leelee all gave their honest feedback on everyone from Teyana Taylor, Kehlani, H.E.R and Queen Naija. However, on the topic of Aiko's "Sativa" song and visuals, Taj admitted to liking "little things in it” while Coko interjected. "I just feel like, if you're depressed, you shouldn't listen to it,” she expressed, mimicking the motion of falling asleep.
Some fans immediately caught shade from the veteran R&B singer before she quickly debunked the rumors on Instagram by posting a photo of her and Jhené at Pharrell Williams' "Something in the Water" festival in Virginia Beach, accompanied by a sweet message for the Trip singer.
"Jhené Aiko is a sweetheart!” she captioned the post. “She walked up to me and said all of my songs aren’t sleepy. We laughed & hugged it out!️ She got what I was saying though. It’s all love, no hate. My son is a big fan of hers."
In other words, why make it so complicated? It’s all love between the sisters of soul music!
