Debra Lee Is the First Black Woman on Twitter's Board of Directors

BET's chief executive brings #BlackGirlMagic to social media.

It's official! BET chairman and chief executive officer Debra L. Lee has been appointed to the board of directors of Twitter, making her the first Black woman to sit on the board of the social media company.
Ms. Lee shared the news on — you guessed it — Twitter on Monday:

According to Variety, Lee "brings some much-needed diversity to the company’s board, while also adding further media expertise."
Besides being the sole African American woman on Twitter's board (the company is said to be making aggressive moves to diversify its upper ranks, however), Lee is also among it's most avid tweeters, with more than 67,000 followers and counting.

Congratulations to Ms. Lee for continuing to make big moves and represent for Black women in the corporate world!
