The unexpected death of former reality star Lyric McHenry has taken a toll on her circle of friends and their families. In fact, one of her closest friends, Etienne Maurice, happens to be the son of Hollywood icon Sheryl Lee Ralph, and the original Dreamgirl took to Instagram, recently, to pay her respects.

According to People, Etienne first took to social media to pen a heartfelt tribute in honor of his friend after learning the news.

"This s**t doesn't feel real yo," he wrote. "I've never lost someone so close to me since my grandfather passed 6 years ago. Thank you to everyone for the prayers and condolences. If I haven't responded to you please don't take it personal. Just need some time to process everything... Please keep the beautiful memories of my best friend alive in your minds and hearts and continue to pray for her family. I'll miss you forever sis. Rest In Power Lyric."

Throughout the day, Etienne has shared more photos of him with his late friend on his Instagram Story, and his mother, most recently, made a post of her own, sharing some sweet words about her son's late bestie.

"Lyric Leigh McHenry was a smart (Stanford alum smart), kind, loving young woman with a sparkling future ahead of her and now she's gone," she wrote. "A beloved daughter to Doug and Jennifer, a doting sister to Maya. She is deeply missed by family and friends and will be remembered always."

As recently reported, McHenry, known mostly for appearing on E!'s EJNYC alongside EJ Johnson back in 2016, died on Tuesday morning of a suspected drug overdose. She was 26.

She was reportedly found on a sidewalk wearing a pajama top and underwear at 5 a.m. in the Bronx, New York. At the time of her being found, it was reported that she was 20 weeks pregnant and was carrying a small Ziplock bag of cocaine.

A New York Police Department spokesperson shared that after being transported to the Bronx-Lebanon Hospital, she was pronounced dead.
