GloRilla Responds To Backlash After Only Offering $550 To Be Her Assistant With A Laundry List Of Duties
GloRilla is feeling the wrath of social media after she posted a notice seeking an assistant with what many are saying is for measly pay.
In the notice, posted to the Memphis rapper’s Facebook page, she’s seeking someone with “excellent communication and interpersonal skills” who will “manage calendar and schedule meetings, scheduling and maintaining the non-work related calendar of all events/appointments” and a laundry list of other “responsibilities” for $550/per week.
Many on social media were calling the job too demanding for only $4,400 a month. And also had jokes.
In a new video posted to her Facebook in the comment section of her original job listing, GloRilla responded, claiming that all travel expenses would be covered for whoever fills the role.
“If you wanna have pay, pay for your own flights and all your own travel and see how much them $500 a** be,” she said after joking that she should only pay $500/per week for the position. “B***h you think I’m finna pay you $1,200? I take flights everyday, you think I’m finna pay $500 per flight everyday plus pay? No. It don’t work like that.”
GloRilla went on to say that her assistant wouldn’t have to do many of the things she listed under responsibilities and just stick by her side.
“Half the s**t on that list you don’t gotta do for real, it’s just if it come down to it, you might have to do it,” she said in the video. “It’s literally the easiest s**t in the world. You really don’t gotta do s**t but be with me everyday. You really just gotta do whatever the f**k I tell you to do, really.”
In addition to the listing, GloRilla also noted in the comment section that she prefers “somebody with no kids,” reiterating that it’s “literally da most easiest job in da world.”
The latest viral assistant job search comes just days after Summer Walker received backlash after she publicly sought an assistant who is preferably “white or gay.” The singer would later reveal that she hired a Black male to fill the role.
