Update: Police identified Ohio State University attacker as an 18-year-old Somali Refugee on permanent residence
The suspect rammed his car into a group of pedestrians before using a large butcher knife to attack others, OSU officials said.
"Victim injuries include stab wounds, injury by motor vehicle and other injuries that are being evaluated," OSU said.
Authorities have not yet publicly released the name of the attacker.
At 11:30 a.m. OSU announced the campus is now secure

On Monday Morning, an emergency alert about an active shooter was sent to students at Ohio State University
The "Run, Hide, Fight," instruction is standard protocol for active shooter scenarios. Run means evacuate if possible; Hide means to take shelter and get out of view of a shooter; and Fight should be used as the last resort to take down a shooter in order to save yourself or others.

After the mysterious alert was sent, students described the atmosphere on campus as 'very scary,' reported CNN
At least eight people have been transported to a hospital
According to ABC News, eight people were transported to local hospitals, said a spokeswoman for the Columbus Fire Department.
At least one person has been listed in critical condition, although the fire department has not specified if anyone transported was shot.
Parents and OSU have Tweeted information about the shooter's whereabouts

CBS News confirmed that one suspect was shot and killed by police while two others were brought out in handcuffs
Although police have not confirmed the identity of the shooter, many speculate this person was shot by police
