Cardi B Nabs Role In ‘Fast & Furious 9’
Fresh off making her big-screen debut in the Jennifer Lopez-helmed Hustlers, Cardi B is shifting gears for the fast lane. The “MotorSport” rapper is joining one of the biggest and most successful film franchises in the world: Fast & Furious. The Grammy award-winning rapper is set to appear in the film series’ latest installment, Fast & Furious 9, which is expected to hit theaters in May 2020.
The Fast & Furious family has already welcomed the rap star into the fold with open arms. Vin Diesel, who plays patriarch Dominic “Dom” Toretto, uploaded a video of the two on their final day of filming in the United Kingdom to his Instagram.
The two seemed to be riding in the back of a vehicle somewhere as Diesel addressed his followers directly and gave a little insight into the grueling 86-day film process, captioning the post “pa mi gente.”
'I’m tired, but I can’t wait,' Cardi told Diesel’s 57 million followers. 'I ain’t gonna front, I think this is going to be the best one.'
Not a lot has been revealed about the role so far. According to Entertainment Weekly, Cardi has been cast in a small, unnamed role. She hasn’t commented on the news through her social channels either, yet.
It was also announced yesterday that Ozuna has joined the cast as well and will be contributing to the movie’s soundtrack, which could mean a musical reunion between him and Cardi. The two both appeared on DJ Snake’s explosive “Taki Taki” single, which dropped a year ago on October 9, so it’s entirely possible.
