Waka Flocka Flame on the Hunt for U.K. Rap Star
In advance of the official U.K. release of his smash single "No Hands," on April 18, Waka Flocka Flame and his record label Warner Bros have announced a contest to discover Britain’s next big name in hip hop.
Also sponsored by MySpace and the U.K.'s SBTV, the contest asks unsigned rappers from across the pond to record new vocals over the instrumental to Waka’s smash single "No Hands." Contestants will then upload their version to the official MySpace page. The MC who is judged the winner will release a worldwide single through Warner Bros., get free promotion on the MySpace website and participate in a special session to be broadcast on SBTV.
Those looking to reap those rewards will have to hurry though, as the contest ends on April 13th.
Helping U.K. rappers get looks isn't the only good deed has Waka done lately. Last week, the 24-year-old Atlanta rapper made headlines when he partnered with the Make-a-Wish Foundation to pay a visit to 16-year-old super-fan Kiyana Lyles, who had recently suffered kidney failure. And in February, Waka became the latest spokesman for PETA.
