Kanye West Just Made This Candid Confession About His Relationship With Jay-Z
Kanye West set off a tidal wave of reactions after the rap impresario shared a candid confession about his relationship with Jay-Z, which has wavered over the years.
This past Saturday (August 8) marked the nine-year anniversary since Kanye and Hov joined musical forces to unleash their Grammy-winning album, Watch the Throne. It appears Ye was feeling a bit nostalgic as he retweeted a throwback video shared by a fan account page from the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards where the duo performed “Otis” live for the first time.
Posting a screenshot of that 2011 performance, Ye tweeted out “miss my bro ... real talk.”
Naturally, his post brought up a swell of emotions for fans at the reminder of the current state of Kanye West and Jay-Z’s relationship. The rift between the two rappers has played out in the media over the years. Ye famously ranted about his frustrations over their falling out mid-concert during a stop on his Saint Pablo Tour in 2016. The following year, Hov alluded to their rift on “Kill Jay-Z,” the opening track from his Grammy-winning opus, 4:44.
But it wouldn't be until 2019 that the two were publicly seen together again at Diddy’s 50th birthday bash in Los Angeles back in December. Last month, West told Forbes that he wanted Hov to be his vice-presidential running mate for his presidential campaign, though he has since revealed that role has gone to Michelle Tidball.
Given their long track record, fans are hopeful that Ye’s latest tweet is a sign that the two can fully resolve their differences one day. Check out their reactions to his tweet below:
