Hopefully, Cynthia Erivo will no longer be asked how she uses the bathroom after breaking down her manageability with long nails.

The Wicked star was a recent guest on the Wondery podcast Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard. Around the 52-minute mark of the episode below, Shepard asked her about how she wipes her backside while wearing nail extensions. Since the British actress has rocked dazzling nail art for years and is currently a brand ambassador for OPI, it’s obvious that she’s gotten comfortable with nail enhancements daily.

“Can I ask you a really crazy question that’s inappropriate?” Shepard began. “When you're wiping your butt…”

“I knew you would ask that question,” Erivo replied, adding that “no one’s afraid” to ask her that question.

“And my answer is nobody uses just their fingers to wipe their backside. You use tissue, correct? And you wipe,” she continued.

But the explanation wasn’t enough for Shepard, who continued by asking if Erivo places toilet paper on “the tip of the fingernails.”

“Pads of the fingers,” Erivo answered. 

“Great, great, great, now we’re getting somewhere,” Shepard added. “Then you’re just feeling the little tickle of the nails on the crack of your butt sometimes?”

“No, because the tissue’s there…none of that,” an embarrassed Erivo replied.

Shepard then unwarrantedly advised the actress to “make a mitten” with toilet paper, before Erivo said that she should fold the tissue instead.

“Oh, you’re a folder. I bunch,” said Armchair Expert co-host Monica Padman.

After Shepard asked Erivo if she was “offended by that question,” the London native understandably seemed to want to wrap up that portion of the conversation.

“I'm annoyed by it. I'm, like, 'Come on, guys,' ” Erivo said. “But I get it, but it's also, like, ‘I'm a functioning adult, and I've never walked around smelling like, you know…’”

“No one thinks that,” Shepard offered. “In fact, everyone thinks you smell so good. It begs the question, how are you wiping your tush?”

After Erivo answered “very well,” Padman explained that those concerned about the actress’s nail length were asking because they wouldn’t know how to wipe their nether regions properly.

“Here’s the thing: there are people who do not have nails who need to check how they’re wiping,” Erivo asserted.

Revealing that people are “bold” enough to ask the question, Erivo shared that people often ask, “‘How do you get anything done with those nails?’”

“And I’m like, ‘I mean, I’m here! I’m dressed.’” she said.
