Muni Long and Her Husband Have Split After a Nearly Decade-Long Marriage
Singer-songwriter Muni Long has announced that she and her husband and longtime collaborator Raysean Hairston, have decided to go their separate ways after nearly a decade of marriage.
The “Made for Me” artist shared the emotional news while discussing her new project, “Revenge,” particularly its deeply personal closing track, “Ruined Me.”
During an appearance on Real 92.3’s The Cruz Show, Long explained, “I always pull from real experiences because I’m writing from my unique perspective. I can only talk about what I know. But this is the first time I’m putting my real life in it. It’s no secret…I’ve been married for nine years…it just didn’t work out, you know?”
The R&B artist stressed the importance of prioritizing her happiness. “I don’t have time for drama, I don’t have time for nonsense,” she added.
Long continued, “This is one of the most amazing times in my life, and if you can’t celebrate that with me, I’m so sorry, but I’m going to have to leave you behind. I cannot. You wake up every day mad, and there’s literally nothing to be upset about.”
Though the 35-year-old kept the details of the breakup private, she did add, “We have a beautiful child. We’re good. We might owe some bills, but everybody has that.”
Muni Long and Hairston first met in Los Angeles and married in 2014. The singer recently made a rare public appearance with their son during an opening performance on Chris Brown’s 11:11 tour.
