Remembering Tito Jackson

The soulful guitarist of The Jackson 5 passed away on Sept. 15, 2024, at 70.

The world is mourning the loss of Tito Jackson, the beloved member of The Jackson 5. The soulful guitarist, who left an indelible mark on the world of music, passed away on Sept. 15 at the age of 70.

Recognized for his guitar skills, Tito's solo career spanned decades. Most recently, he performed with his brothers at the Fool In Love Festival at Hollywood Park in Los Angeles.

    In 1962, before Tito and his brothers were known as the Jackson 5, they performed under the name The Jackson Brothers.

    Tito took to playing the guitar at a young age. He started playing his father's guitar at the age of 10. 

  3. His Unique Voice

    After first performing in school functions and supermarkets, the brothers began participating in local talent shows when Jackson was 12. By then, his younger brother Michael, then seven, had become the official lead singer of the group.

    In 2003, Tito Jackson launched his solo career and started performing all over as a blues musician.

    The brothers helped to officially launch the boy band movement. Back in 1968, they released their first single "Big Boy" under Steeltown Records.

    Tito Jackson was blessed with three sons and nine grandkids.
