Ayo Edebiri Says Elon Musk Reaction Incited ‘Death Threats’ and ‘Racial Slurs’

The ‘The Bear’ actress said the experience was one of her “top 3” most “insane” moments.

Elon Musk stirred up an intense social media reaction towards Ayo Edebiri, which nearly endangered the actress.

On Wednesday, March 12, the Emmy-winning actress posted an Instagram Story recalling a time when she was ‘cast’ in a fake “Pirates of the Caribbean” reboot on social media, which prompted a negative response from the Tesla CEO. “Disney sucks,” commented on X with a repost of the false story.

Musk incited racist comments about Edebiri, which the actress caught wind of and wrote about in her Story post. “Just remembering when I got some of the most insane death threats and racial slurs of my life (idk if it’s the #1 moment, but for sure top 3) for a fake reboot of a movie I had never even heard of because of this man,” Edebiri wrote over the screenshot.

The “Opus” star followed the Story with a DM from a friend who thought that “Pirates” would be a great fit for her. “Wait no DEI, but I’ve changed my mind maybe we could make some money idk lmk,” Edebiri joked.

“Stop making my IG stories news,” she continued. “I’m just tryna have a silly goofy time.”

While Musk may not want Edebiri to touch “Pirates,” the actress is booked and busy enough, next starring in films “After the Hunt” and “Ella McCay,” while “The Bear” was renewed for a fourth season.
