La La Anthony Reveals What's 'Most Amazing' About Being a Part of 'Power'
Starz's monster series Power is back for its fourth season and fans are rejoicing.
Actually, the cast of the gritty drama feels indebted to these die-hard supporters as they're pretty much the ones who kept the show on a steady incline for all these years. La La Anthony, who plays LaKeisha Grant on the show, explains that the fan's engagement is what makes all of the hard work worth it.
"The Power fans are so loyal, it's the most amazing thing to be a part of. It's the most amazing thing to witness," La La told BET.com, exclusively.
Her on-screen bestie, Naturi Naughton, who plays Tasha St. Patrick on the show, wholeheartedly agreed with her sentiment.
"On Twitter, we have such social media engagement, and on Instagram, we have Starz backing us up and then 50 Cent's our executive producer who's passionate and Courtney Kemp, our writer," Naturi said. "I'm just really happy that we made it because a lot of good shows, sometimes they don't make it if the fans don't fight for it, but here we are, thank you."
The show's main face, Omari Hardwick, who plays James "Ghost" St. Patrick, even shared a specific instance where fans showed their unwavering loyalty.
"If Lela [Loren] and I are out in the world, and there's a moment for a fan to defend us, because what we hear one day is that being out in the world made a particular fan mad because we didn't necessarily act like they request whether that be a picture or whether we were rushing of whatever, we have a legion of fans that would equally defend and go, 'I've met him several times and they're great people.' So for every one fan to two to three that are like, 'Forget them,' the reality of social media is so beautiful because the ones that say, 'Forget them,' they ain't going nowhere."
