Flavor Flav's Chicken & Ribs Was Served With Eviciton Papers
Eviction papers were served to Flavor Flav's Chicken & Ribs Michigan restaurant over a $25,000 debt dating back to last year.
According to legal documents, the Sterling Heights eatery has had trouble getting the rent in since its December 2012 grand opening. The landlord, who informed the Public Enemy hype man of the cash flow problem back in January (before getting the law involved), is seeking back rent, plus late fees and damages.
The paperwork alleges that the eatery was tardy with its $3,500 monthly rent in September and October. By November, the FFC&R franchise completely suspended payments.
Flav claims he didn't know the restaurant bearing his name was in the red. "I'm gonna figure out what's going on and get to the bottom of this ASAP," he said. Previously, Iowa and Las Vegas FFC&Rs have shuttered.
As of this morning, the Michigan location opened as scheduled, and the company will reportedly address the allegations via an official press release later today.
