Country Singer Went in Blackface as Lil Wayne and He's Not Sorry
No matter how many times it's said that Halloween is no excuse for blackface, every year someone — or several people — cross that line. This year, one of the offenders is Jason Aldean, the country singer who is ranked 47th on Forbes's highest-paid celebrities list.
Aldean decided to employ shoe polish and a wig for his Lil Wayne costume and then went partying around Nashville. A fan picture made it's way to Nashville Gab, who first reported on the offensive costume. “When the picture above first fell in my lap and I was told it was a picture of Jason Aldean, his wife and a couple friends dressed up for Halloween,” Shannon at Nashville Gab wrote, "I didn’t think much of it because I automatically thought the hunter was Jason."
His rep then confirmed to TMZ that Aldean was dressed as Lil Wayne. Despite the confirmation, Aldean — who is an artist on Jay Z’s Tidal streaming service — has not issued an apology.
