Irv Gotti’s Team Confirms He Suffered a Stroke Earlier This Year
A spokesperson for Irv Gotti confirmed that the Murder Inc. co-founder suffered a “minor stroke” earlier this year, just days after Wack 100 disclosed the news on his podcast.
In a statement to TMZ, the rep explained that the 54-year-old executive “has been struggling with diabetes for years, which caused him to have a minor stroke over six months ago.”
Since then, Irv has reportedly “changed his diet to eating more healthy” and has “been successful in making a full recovery.” The spokesperson also refuted Wack100’s claims that Irv was in a rehab facility, emphasizing that he “is at home with his family, enjoying life.”
During his show, Wack claimed to have photos of Irv following the stroke and mentioned knowing someone at the recovery center where the hip-hop mogul was reportedly treated. He ultimately posted a picture on Instagram—which is still up— showing Gotti using a cane.
The post quickly sparked backlash, with many criticizing Wack for the insensitive move. One user commented, “You’re grown, act like it and have some class along the way!!!!”
Irv has been open about his health challenges in the past. During a “Drink Champs” appearance, the legendary producer admitted to not consistently taking his insulin. According to his representative, his doctors advised him to adjust his diet, which he has since done.
