‘Jungle Love’
The Time released their 1984 funk-pop record “Jungle Love” from the album Ice Cream Castle. Prince, Morris Day, and Jesse Johnson co-wrote the single. The group profited from the momentum of Prince’s classic film, Purple Rain, and ultimately peaked at no. 20 on the Billboard Hot 100.
‘Jerk Out’
“Jerk Out” is The Time’s highest charting record of all time. The song initially appeared on the group’s 1990 album Pandemonium, serving as the lead single for the project. The track was produced by Prince at his home studio nearly a decade before. The song reached number one on the U.S. R&B chart, nine on the U.S. pop chart, and six on the dance chart.
‘The Bird’
If Prince produced it, it’s sure to be a smash. “The Bird” appeared on The Time’s third studio album, Ice Cream Castle, and serves as one of the group’s premiere records. It finds them coming together as a complete ensemble instead of a collaboration between Prince and Morris.
