Little Luxury: Lanvin Releases First Look at New Child’s Line
Alber Elbaz at Lanvin has gone adorable! The lookbook for Lanvin Petite has arrived and shows action shots of well dressed tots in sweet tulle dresses, jackets, tops, pants, jewels and ballet flats—all part of a 25-piece collection for little girls ages 4-10.
Inspired by Jeanne Lanvin’s own daughter, Marguerite, Lanvin Petite also includes four Elbaz-designed rag dolls that will be sold with part of the proceeds will go to humanitarian design firm, Designing Hope.
It’s a long way from OshKosh B’Gosh and Keds. Lanvin’s executive vice president Thierry Andretta told WWD the collection is, “a way to translate the universe of Lanvin ready-to-wear to the world of kids…we really want to stay in the luxury world.”
Mission accomplished. The extravagant pieces may not be practical for the playground, but they sure do look like fun for dress up.
Lanvin Petite will be distributed on a limited basis, but will be available at the New York flagship store. Deliveries are to start in late November for the spring 2012 season.
