It was recently confirmed that Keith Sweat would also be joining the 30-city “Legacy Tour” with New Edition—Bobby Brown, Ralph Tresvant, Michael Bivins, Ricky Bell, Johnny Gill, and Ronnie DeVoe—as headliners. As we gear up for the musical extravaganza, which is set to begin on March 9, 2023, with the first stop in Columbia, SC, we are looking back at some of our most memorable songs featuring our tour performers, including Keith. So keep reading and see which three songs from the legendary singer heated the r&b charts in the 80s and 90s.
“Twisted”
This memorable track, “Twisted,” appeared on Keith’s self-titled fifth album, Keith Sweat, and spent three weeks at the number one spot on the Billboard Hot R&B Singles chart and it peaked at number 2 on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming the r&b crooner’s biggest hit. Keith co-wrote the song alongside Eric McCaine, Athena Cage, Lavonn Battle, and Tabitha Duncan. Meanwhile, VH1 ranked the song at 35 on their list of the "40 Greatest R&B Songs of the '90s.”
“I'll Give All My Love To You”
"I'll Give All My Love to You" was written and produced by the veteran singer and Bobby Wotten from his studio album of the same name. The single ultimately peaked at number one on the US Billboard R&B chart.
“Make It Last Forever” feat. Jacci McGhee
Keith Sweat and New Jack Swing pioneer Teddy Riley collaborated for the second single and the title track from Sweat's debut album, Make It Last Forever. Later, the song peaked at number 2 on Billboard Hot Black Singles in 1988.
