Eddie Murphy Battles Comedian Claiming to Be His Son
Eddie Murphy seems to be in a paternity battle with a full-grown adult, TMZ reports. The Oscar-nominated actor and legendary comedian is threatening legal action against another comedian who calls himself Brando Murphy and claims to be Eddie's long-lost son.
According to letters filed by Murphy's lawyer Marty Singer, the impostor has changed his last name to Murphy, joined the Sons of Comedy tour along with Richard Pryor's son Mason Pryor and routinely shows up at the coffee house Murphy frequents and screams "my father won't talk to me."
Brando has sent his own threatening letter to Eddie, insisting he's never presented himself as Eddie's son and calling Eddie's accusations "vile, base, contemptible, miserable, wretched and loathsome." He is threatening to counter sue for defamation.
