CoverGirl has had a truly diverse array of beauty spokeswomen, ranging from Queen Latifah to Ellen DeGeneres to their newest, actress Sofia Vergara. The Modern Family hottie tells People, “I’ve always wanted to be a CoverGirl. I always loved seeing the pictures of the campaigns in magazines.” Vergara, who grew up around tons of cosmetics, reminisced on her mother’s daily routine of getting glam in the mirror. “I used to watch her, just fascinated,” she says.

The Latin beauty is elated to represent the brand, but she’s even more excited to inspire young girls with her platform. “When you grow up, you look up to girls in the magazines, and you never think you’re going to be that pretty, or that well made-up, or that glamorous,” says the Colombian beauty. “I love that I have the Latin flavor; Latin girls can relate to me, see what I’m wearing, see my makeup, my hairstyle.”

Vergara’s ads will debut in January of 2012. She’ll help usher in a few new must-haves from CoverGirl.
