BET Awards 2022: 5 Times Cardi B Added Spice to a Sizzling Collaboration
Cardi B found musical success following her breakout single “Bodak Yellow,” and since then, she’s proven she’s a certified hitmaker. Since coming onto the rap scene in 2015, she has since collaborated with some of the biggest names in the music industry and across genres, including doing songs with fellow Grammy-winner Bruno Mars, Rita Ora, and Megan Thee Stallion
The BET Awards 2022 is just a couple of weeks away, and the Bronx emcee has always been known to shut the night down with jaw-dropping performances, either solo or onstage with Migos. Ahead of this year’s ceremony, check five times Cardi B brought the spice to a sizzling collaboration.
Offset ft. Cardi B — “Clout”
Husband and wife Offset and Cardi B call out clout chasers over this twitchy Metro Boomin’ produced beat. The track, one of the first singles from Offset’s debut solo album Father of 4, may have been inspired by the reports and rumors surrounding their marriage and alleged infidelities around the song’s release in 2019.
Migos ft. Cardi B — “Type Sh-t”
The Atlanta-based trio Migos already had the stage steaming with firey—and we mean this literally—performance of the hit single “Straightenin’.” The hip-hop trendsetters were later joined on stage by a pregnant Cardi for the smash record “Type Sh-t.” The show-stopping moment also marked the announcement of Cardi and Offset's second pregnancy.
Cardi B & Bruno Mars — “Please Me”
Affectionately dubbed as the female emcee’s “work husband” by fans on social media, Bruno Mars and Cardi team up for this 2019 uptempo number titled “Please Me.” They were nominated for Best Collabo, Duo, or Group at the BET Awards 2019 but lost to Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus for “Old Town Road (Remix).”

City Girls feat. Cardi B – “Twerk”
Miami rap duo City Girl called on the Bronx, NY native for the New Orleans bounce-inspired summer anthem “Twerk.” The track, which was featured on City Girls’ 2018 project Girl Code, landed on the Hot 100’s top 30 and further certified Cardi’s place in the music game.
Cardi B & Megan Thee Stallion — “WAP”
Cardi B and Houston’s own Megan Thee Stallion shut down the interview following the release of their viral song “WAP.” No one could’ve imagined the pandemonium that ensured following the track’s debut in 2020. With bars like “park that big Mack truck right in this little garage,” the record garnered both praise and criticism for its lyrics that empowered women to feel comfortable in their bodies and in discussing their needs in the bedroom.
