50 Cent Wins $1 Billion Lawsuit Against Ex-Drug Lord Over ‘Power’ Series

The rapper-turned-TV mogul celebrated with a cheeky response on Instagram.

Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson is all smiles after winning the $1 billion “Power” lawsuit filed by former drug kingpin Cory Ghost Holland Sr. Holland had accused the rapper-turned-TV mogul of using his life story to craft the hit crime drama.

According to AllHipHop, Judge Analisa Torres recently tossed out the suits, ruling in favor of 50 Cent and his empire, as the series was found not to reference Holland’s life.

Back in 2021, Holland took legal action against 50 Cent, "Power" co-creator Courtney Kemp, Starz, and Lionsgate, claiming the series drew extensively from his personal experiences without permission. He alleged he had shared his story via a CD sent to Kemp’s father, asking for help to escape his criminal past.

In another lawsuit, Holland accused 50 Cent of harassment, alleging the rapper sent his associates to intimidate him. Additionally, Holland sued Lionsgate and Starz, alleging they failed to shield him from threats made by 50 Cent and his alleged goons.

True to form, 50 Cent couldn't resist a bit of humor after the victory. He posted a screenshot of the headline announcing his win, followed by a cheeky caption: “Fool thought he was Ghost 😆 da fvck wrong wit these 🥷’s man 🤨 LOL.”
