BET Awards 2023: Kid Capri Rocks The Stage With 10 Unbelievable Performances

Hip-Hop 50 was well represented at this year's BET Awards. Check out all the amazing performances.

Hip-hop turns 50 this year. In honor of the golden birthday of the culture we
all love, BET Awards 2023 brought out all the stops ā€“ paying tribute
everything and everyone that helped build hip-hop. From New York to the
South to the West Coast, and everything in between, Kid Capri was the
perfect DJ to set it all off. Check out what went down below.

  • The New York 80s

    To kick things off, Kid Capri brought out The Sugarhill Gang for a rendition of "Rapper's Delight." Then, MC Lyte performed "Cha Cha Cha," D-Nice performed "Call Me D-Nice" and Big Daddy Kane blessed us with "Raw" and a tribute set for Biz Markie featuring "Just A Friend."

  • West Coast

    In a tribute to the West Coast, Kid Capri started with Tupac's "Hail Mary" before bringing out Warren G for "Regulate," Yo-Yo for "You Can't Play With My Yo-Yo," Tyga for "Rack City" and E-40 for "Tell Me When To Go."

  • Miami

    During the Miami portion of show, Kid Capri brought out the 305 by bringing out Trick Daddy and Trina for a rendition of "Naan" and Uncle Luke for "I Wanna Rock (Doo Doo Brown)."

  • Trap/Drill

    For the trap portion of the show, Kid Capri paid tribute to Pop Smoke with "Dior," then brought out Chief Keef for "Faneto" and the Ying Yang Twins for "Wait (The Whisper Song)."

  • Atlanta/The South

    The south got a lot of love during BET Awards 2023 as Kid Capri brought out Jeezy for a tribute performance of Shawty Lo's "They Know (Remix)," T.I. for "24's" and Master P for "No Limit Soldiers" and "Make 'Em Say Ugh."

  • New York 90s

    Kid Capri was in his bag for his own era as he paid tribute to the New York 90s by bringing out Erick Sermon for "Music," Keith Murray for "The Most Beautifullest Thing In This World" and Redman for "Da Goodness."

  • Jamaica/Reggae

    For the Reggae portion of Kid Capri's tributes, he brought out Doug E. Fresh and Lil' Vicious for an a cappella rendition of "Freaks," Mad Lion for "Take It Easy" and Patra for "Romantic Call."

  • New York 2000s

    Kid Capri kept the show going and gave tribute to New York's 2000s era by bringing out Fat Joe and Remy Ma for "All The Way Up," Fabolous for "Breathe," Styles P with "Good Times," and Ja Rule for "Holla Holla."

  • Busta Rhymes/Dancehall Tribute

    For one of the biggest moments of BET Awards 2023, Busta Rhymes, after winning the Lifetime Achievement Award, performed several of his cuts with the artists featured on the songs. That included him and Spliff Star performing "Ante Up Remix" with M.O.P., Scar Lip for "This Is New York,"
    Swizz Beatz for "New York S**t" and others.

  • Dance Medley

    For the final Kid Capri performance of the night, the crowd was active for a medley of dance/hip-hop crossover joints. That was kicked off by Cali Swag District's "Teach Me How To Dougie," and followed by DJ Cool's "Let Me Clear My Throat," Kid 'N Play's "Gettin' Funky," Dem Franchize Boyz's "Lean Wit It, Rock Wit It," Soulja Boy's "Crank Dat," UNK's "Walk It Out" and more.
