The Coalition to Stop Gun Violence has used 911 calls from the night Trayvon Martin was shot and killed by George Zimmerman in a new video PSA against “Stand Your Ground” laws.

The video reenacts the night of Trayvon’s shooting. A character based on Zimmerman is shown running on a rainy night, reaching in his back pocket for a weapon and aiming it at another person. In the next scene a couple is shown in their living room startled by the sound of gunshot and calling 911.

A body resembling Trayvon in a hoodie is then shown lying on the ground. The camera also shows other dead bodies in hoodies, representing the 26 states that have “Stand Your Ground” laws, including Alaska, Nevada, Georgia and Kentucky.

“Our Laws Should Protect Victims. Not Create More,” the message reads in the video. “Stand Up to Stand Your Ground Laws in 26 States.”

Since the shooting of Trayvon, national attention has been brought to “Stand Your Ground” laws, which allow individuals to use deadly force to defend themselves without having to retreat if they consider themselves in imminent danger. Trayvon’s family and organizations such as the Dream Defenders have been calling for reform to the controversial laws.

Separately, the television show Law & Order: Special Victims Unit will be basing a forthcoming episode on the Trayvon Martin incident. Actress Cybill Shepherd will be playing a character loosely based on George Zimmerman, according to the Daily Mail.
