Drake To Take A Break From Music ‘I Need To Focus on My Health’
Drake announced on "A Table For One," a show on SiriusXM's Sound 42, that he will take a hiatus from music to focus on his health.
“I probably won’t make music for a little bit,” the rapper shared. Drake said, “I’m gonna be real with you: I need to focus on my health, first and foremost. … Nothing crazy, but just, like, you know, I want people to be healthy in life.”
During the interview reported by Page Six, the "8 AM in Charlotte" artist revealed he has been having the "craziest problems" with his stomach "for years." Drake admitted that he doesn't even know just how long he'll be gone for "maybe a year."
"I need to focus on my health, and I need to get right, and I'm going to do that," the Toronto-bred producer shared. This announcement comes shortly after the release of his eighth album, "For All My Dogs," comprising 23 songs along with a track that allegedly disses Rihanna, according to Page Six. With features from people like SZA, Bad Bunny, 21 Savage, J. Cole, and Chief Keef, to name a few, this album has been long awaited.
“How can I describe this album to you?” he said during the SiriusXM interview. “I'll keep it short and sweet. Please don't ask me what I feel if you can't handle the real. That's it, that's it. I apologize in advance. Maybe that was, that's probably the alternate album title too.”
Drake took to Instagram to share a clip from the interview, sharing with his 143 million followers: "See ya when I see ya." While he is scheduled to perform concerts for his "It Was All A Blur" Tour with 21 Savage in his hometown, Toronto, on Friday and Saturday night, a number of the upcoming performances have been rescheduled after the announcement.
