Here’s How Drake, Cardi B And Other Hip-Hop Royalty Rang In Father’s Day This Year
In commemoration of Father’s Day, a number of music’s biggest stars flooded social media this past weekend with tributes dedicated to their dads or father figures who helped shape them into the people they are today.
On Sunday (June 21), Drake gave us a rare glimpse of his baby boy, Adonis. “Happy Fathers Day to all the real g’z handling business,” he captioned the photo. He also took to his Instagram Stories to send some special shout-outs to some of his important male role models. He sent love to his “biggest inspiration,” Jamie Foxx. He went on to also praise Lil Wayne, writing “@liltunechi You are my brother but you raised me so Happy Father’s Day. I love you G, forever.” He also expressed his appreciation for his “uncle” Snoop Dogg, Charles Oakley, and LeBron James.
Lil Baby received quite the extravagant surprise from the mother of his child when he woke up and saw his backyard had been transformed.
“So this How I Woke Up,” the 25-year-old captioned a video of the display. A band could be heard playing Michael Jackon’s “I Can’t Help It” as the rapper panned over a table set for two backdropped by a giant sign that read “#1 Dad” in blue block letters, a female dancer inside a plastic bubble floating in the pool, as well as pedicure and massage services at the ready.
Plenty of ladies also took a moment to salute the men in their life including a pregnant Teyana Taylor who shared a hilariously cute post dedicated to “the love of her life,” Iman Shumpert, which simply left us in tears. She praised the professional baller and rapper for being the “greatest gift” to her and their four-year-old baby girl, Junie. “When our next girl arrives; she will feel just as lucky as we do. I Love you Papa! Happy Papa Bear Day,” Taylor wrote.
