It's A Girl! Duchess Kate, Prince William Welcome Royal Baby
After months of anticipation, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince William and Kate Middleton, welcomed a baby girl on Saturday (May 2). The 8 lb., 3 oz. bundle is the royal couple's second child, joining Prince George, 22 months.
Kensington Palace confirmed the news on Twitter early Saturday morning. "Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well," a Palace spokesperson tweeted.
The royals are expected to introduce their bundle of joy to the world outside St. Mary's Hospital, as they did with Prince George after his birth. They will then spend a couple of days at Kensington Palace before embarking on official maternity leave at their home in Norfolk.
The family has not yet shared the name of their newborn baby girl, but it's just a matter of time before they do.
