Lil Wayne Disses Jay-Z on New Track

Title of Weezy’s new song, “It’s Good,” not so accurate.

There’s hip-hop beef simmering in verse three of Lil Wayne’s new “It’s Good,” from his forthcoming Tha Carter IV album. The song, which features Jadakiss and Drake, sees Weezy hitting back at Jay-Z for a perceived diss.
It all started back in January, when Watch the Throne’s first single, “H.A.M” dropped. It included a the following lyric from Hov: “N---as fantasize about the s--t that I do daily/ Like these rappers rap about all the s--t that I do daily. I’m like really, half a billi, ni--a really you got Baby money/ Keep it real with ni--as, ni--as ain’t got my lady money.” The “Baby” he refers to is thought to be Wayne’s “Daddy,” Baby.
Wayne commented on it in an interview with MTV News back in March, saying “’Ye played it for me personally. I went to a session with him the other night. I wouldn’t ask him about a Jay-Z line because he’s not Jay-Z. But I wouldn’t make it a competition, because actually, the subject that he’s talking about in that line, I can’t box with the god. I’d be the first one to tell you that, given my wit, and the type of person that I am, I’d capitalize and I’d play off of it. Yeah, I definitely would.”
And play off it he did, months later. On “It’s Good,” Wayne hits back: “Talkin’ about baby money, I got your baby money, kidnap your bitch, get that how much you love your lady money/ I know you fake ni--a, press your brakes ni--a/ I’ll take you out, that’s a date, ni—a.”
Let’s hope this beef fizzles—we want more Hov-Weezy collabos!
