In the months leading up to this year's election, perhaps more so now than ever, celebrities have been passionately dedicating their platform to voicing their support for their select presidential candidate of choice, as well as to encourage others to exercise their right to vote. 

However, one pop star in particular has remained oddly quiet about this year's election, and fans are taking it to mean that she is voting for Donald Trump.

Taylor Swift today took to her Twitter account to post a simple message encouraging others to vote, but many are interpreting her lack of an official endorsement as an endorsement for the Republican candidate.

While many Twitter users blew up Swift's mentions today (November 8), begging her to use her powerful influence to sway voters away from casting a vote for Trump, others voiced their opinion that because the singer has remained consciously silent on the topic, she must be voting Trump.

Last week, one reporter wrote that because Swift is a "self-proclaimed feminist," she holds a responsibility to make a statement and publicly discuss Trump's controversial outlook on women, as well as the allegations being made against him. While Swift technically doesn't have to do anything, her silence on this year's election could result in her losing the support of her die-hard fan base.

While Swift's lack of public endorsement is puzzling to many, it is not against her pattern to keep things sweet, simple and frustratingly vague. When Barack Obama was running in 2008, Swift commented that voting was "really, really beautiful," and "so completely American," but never voiced her support for either candidate. 

In 2012, she shared in an interview that she purposely does not speak about politics, saying, "I don't talk about politics because it might influence other people. And I don't think that I know enough in life to be telling people who to vote for."

Maybe 2016 would have been a wise time to get involved.
