Michael B. Jordan Joins Fantastic Four Reboot
Michael B. Jordan has officially signed on the dotted line to play Johnny Storm in the upcoming reboot of Fantastic Four, fan boy site SchmoesKnow.com reports. The site claims to have the inside scoop through Jordan's talent agency.
Rumors of the Fruitvale Station star joining the reboot have been swirling for weeks, especially since the film will be directed by Jordan's Chronicle director Josh Trank. The character of Johnny Storm, aka the Human Torch, was played by Chris Evans in the last Fantastic Four franchise.
Of course, the decision to cast Jordan has received backlash from a small minority on Twitter, who take issue with a Black actor taking on the role that was written as white in the comic book series. Far more people, however, seem to be tremendously excited for Jordan to join the cast. The actor was the breakout star of Fruitvale Station and is even rumored to be a dark horse for a Best Actor nomination at the Oscars next year.
No other casting announcements have been made for Fantastic Four.
