Fabolous Channels Marty McFly in Video for 'You Made Me'
Ever since dropping The Young OG Project last Christmas, Fabolous has embraced the ‘90s. He’s made it his duty to pay homage to that era in 2015 with freestyles over classic instrumentals and even working with his old partner DJ Clue again. In keeping with tradition, Fab uses themes from Back to the Future in his new set of visuals for “You Made Me.”
In the clip directed by Gerald Victor, Fab, who is dressed like Marty McFly, uses the DeLorean DMC-12 to travel back to 1995 to confront an old cheating girlfriend. It turns out she traded Fab for a different man (played by DJ Envy), who had more to offer. Rather than letting the betrayal bring him down, he becomes motivated to pursue his dreams. Viewers get to see the progression of Fab's career throughout the years.
In one scene, Fab gives his first demo to a music executive who immediately blows him off. A few scenes later, Fab travels to 2008 where he meets the same exec with his daughter at a sneaker store, only this time Fab is a famous rapper and signs a copy of his album for her and takes pictures.
“You Made Me” is produced by Cashe N. Cashe and features vocals from rising Bronx songstress Tish Hyman. Watch the video here.
