NBA Stars Reveal Their Grooming Secrets

Their secret tricks of the trade may surprise you.

NBA stars really seem to have it all: they’re wildly talented, devilishly handsome and have closets full of designer clothes that would make any fashionista envious. However, it takes a lot of work to get there, especially when it comes to keeping their mugs presentable for the cameras.

After several hours of sweating it out on the court, breakouts can get the best of any athlete. Indiana Pacers guard Rasual Butler says he uses the popular Clarisonic face brush to keep his complexion clear. "It helps me really get in there and clean, get a deep cleanse," he tells the Wall Street Journal, adding that he rotates out his face products every three to six months.
For New York Knicks forward Amar’e Stoudemire, it’s all about trial and error. "Every year I will stock my locker up with body wash, different lotions, different oils and different creams," Stoudemire tells the Wall Street Journal. For a pre-game pick-me-up, the 6-foot-11 star applies Bath and Body Works Stress Relief eucalyptus and spearmint-scented body lotion and says he uses Dove soap to cleanse his face of sweat and grime.

Los Angeles Clippers center DeAndre Jordan’s stay-fresh secret was a little more surprising. For games, the NBA star relies on Secret brand aerosol deodorant, which is marketed to women, because he says its lightweight and leaves no white residue behind. "I'm always powder-fresh during the games,” Jordan says, adding jokingly, "I'm sure my opponents love that!"
And who has time for ashy elbows when you’ve got a game to win? Not Indiana Pacers stars Roy Hibbert and George Hill, who both swear by Carol’s Daughter’s Shea Soufflé moisturizer. "I put it on after the games whenever I'm ashy," Hibbert says, adding that the almond cookie scent is his favorite. "It just smells really good."
Looking good, guys.
