In case you missed it, Lil Nas X Day is officially a part of Atlanta culture.
On Wednesday (Oct. 20), the "Industry Baby" artist was honored by his hometown and received and was awarded his own day in the City of Atlanta, according to TMZ.
The city's first Black LGBTQ+ council member and mayoral candidate, Antonio Brown, presented the award to Nas X. A dinner hosted by BMI and sponsored by Gilead's Compass Initiative took place shortly after.
“Thank you all for being here. This is incredible,” the 22-year-old said during his acceptance speech. “This is amazing. I would not have imagined I would be here like four years ago.”
Adding, “Life just keeps getting better.”
Kandi Burruss, Todd Tucker, and Miss Lawrence were in attendance to witness the special event. Producer Dallas Austin hosted a Lil Nas Homecoming event following the dinner, where Chloe Bailey and others appeared.
