Zendaya Accepts Giuliana Rancic's Apology for Racist Comment

Fashion Police host made jokes about actress' dreadlocks.

Zendaya is one classy young lady. The day after Fashion Police host Giuliana Rancic issued a public apology for making racist comments about the young star's hair during the show's Oscar special, Zendaya has accepted her apology and urges others who were angered by Rancic's remarks to do the same.
In a lengthy note posted on Instagram, Zendaya wrote, "Giuliana, I appreciate your apology and I'm glad it was a learning experience for you and the network. I hope that others negatively affected by her words can find it in their hearts to accept her apology as well."

She closed the note with a quote from Dr. Martin Luther King Jr: "'Darkness cannot drive out darkness, only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate, only love can do that.' Let's be that light and spread the love."
Rancic faces major backlash after mocking the 18-year-old star's Oscar 'do, snarkily quipping that she probably "smells like patchouli oil." On the Fashion Police broadcast, another voice was heard saying, "or weed." Though people initially believed it was co-host Kelly Osbourne was the one to chime in with the incediary comment, Osbourne adamantly denied the allegation on Twitter and even threatened to quit the show. "I'm giving everyone involved 24 hours to make it right or the world will hear how I really feel," she tweeted on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Zendaya is earning the admiration of fans and celebs — from Solange Knowles to Kerry Washington — for the way she has handled the scandal.
Fashion Police host Kathy Griffin, who is believed to be behind the "weed" remark, has yet to comment. Check out the controversial moment below.
