Drake's Nothing Was the Same Goes Platinum

OVO rapper pushes a million in less than two months.

Drake's latest album has gone platinum, and took less than two months to do so.

According to Hits Daily Double, the Grammy winner's third studio effort, Nothing Was the Same, sold an additional 38,274 copies this week, pushing the Toronto native past the one million mark. The feat is the second rap album, behind Jay Z's Magna Carta Holy Grail, to reach platinum this year.

Released Sept. 24, NWTS topped the Billboard 200 charts with 658,000 domestic copies sold in a week, and debuted within the top two spots on album charts in Denmark, Australia, the U.K. and Drake's home country, Canada.

The album, featuring guest spots from Hov, 2 Chainz, Jhené Aiko, Majiid Jordan, Detail and Sampha, has also spawned the successful singles "Started From the Bottom" and "Hold on We're Going Home," the latter of which is also certified platinum.

But clocking another platinum plaque isn't enough to slow down Drizzy's stride just yet. Aside from seeing him on the Would You Like a Tour jaunt, which kicked off last month, fans can expect more new music from the 27-year-old rapper, including a collaboration with his father, musician Dennis Graham.

Speaking to TMZ earlier this week, Graham said he and Drake "just did a song together," but didn't give any other details behind the project.

Drake hasn't commented on his father's words, but he's long rhymed about their relationship. In his XXL cover story, the OVO Sounder founder called his dad a "star," explaining, "I'm living my dad's dream."
