Cops: Terrell Owens 911 Call Was for Overdose

The troubled football player may have been popping pills when an ambulance was called to his home last week.

Could football player-turned-reality star Terrell Owens be facing a relapse? TMZ reports that according to sources in law enforcement, the receiver and star of The T.O. Show may have suffered a prescription pill overdose last Thursday, which resulted in a 911 call from his L.A. apartment.

Owens was then transported by ambulance to a local hospital and cops were dispatched to investigate the matter. The law enforcement officials spoke with Owens at the hospital, and he has since been released.
A rep for Owens had no comment on the matter.

This is the latest in a string of challenges faced by the troubled athlete. T.O. was hospitalized in 2006 for a reported suicide attempt, which he later denied and claimed he had an allergic reaction to painkillers.

After the NFL lockout put the brakes on his football career, Owens has been trying to launch himself as an actor, even shopping around an idea for a sitcom.

Hopefully Owens will get some help fighting off his demons so he can realize all his dreams.
