Eva Marcille and Michael Sterling Finalize Divorce
Eva Marcille is now legally single.
According to Page Six, the former Real Housewives of Atlanta star reportedly finalized her divorce from lawyer Michael Sterling. In court documents obtained by Radar Online, both parties allegedly signed the settlement agreement on August 3.
As reportedly cited in the settlement, the exes agreed to waive their right to alimony or spousal support, and Marcille is not seeking child support from Sterling. The two have also reportedly worked on a private custody agreement for their children, Michael, 5, and Maverick, 3.
“The parties agree that each has ample income and assets to support the Children in their respective homes,” as reported in the settlement.
“Accordingly, the parties agree that neither shall pay direct child support to the other.”
It is unknown if the agreement includes the America's Next Top Model season 3 winner's daughter, Marley Rae, 9, whom she shares with ex-Kevin McCall. However, Marley adopted Sterling's last name when she was 15 months old. In 2018, they petitioned Georgia Family Court to have Sterling officially declared as the father of Marley, but the decision did not sit well with her biological dad, Kevin McCall, whom Marcille referred to as "the donor."
Marcille and Sterling were reportedly awarded their own retirement and bank accounts.
After less than five years of marriage, the model filed for divorce from Sterling, citing their union was “irretrievably broken” and that “there are no prospects for a reconciliation.”
Earlier this year, Marcille opened up to PEOPLE on her divorce journey.
"This has been one of the hardest decisions I have ever had to make, but sometimes life takes your journey in a direction you were not expecting," she told the outlet.
"Our children remain our biggest priority and the eight and half years we have spent together will always be cherished. We ask that you respect our privacy at this time."
Sterling hoped that the marriage could go on. “I am not going to lose my wife. I am going to fight for her with every fiber in my being,” he said in a statement obtained by Page Six in March.
“I love her and I plan to show her how much I love her and that our love is strong enough to get to the other side.”
Sterling concluded, “I am not going to lose my wife. I am going to win her back.”
