JoJo, Asian Doll, And More Come To Megan Thee Stallion’s Support After She Revealed Tory Lanez Shot Her
JoJo, Asian Doll, and Yung Baby Tate are among those standing in solidarity with Megan Thee Stallion.
More than a month after she was shot in both of her feet on July 12, the Houston rapper publicly named Canadian artist Tory Lanez as the person who pulled the trigger last night (Aug. 20).
Megan took to Instagram Live to clarify what went down that night after weeks of dealing with internet speculation regarding the shooting incident.
“You shot me, and you got your publicist and your people going to these blogs lying and s—t. Stop lying," the 25-year-old. “Why lie? I don't understand. I tried to keep the situation off the internet, but you're dragging it.”
Reactions quickly took over Twitter as a top trending topic.
Asian Doll called out people still questioning if Megan was telling the truth and policing her actions.
“Megan is not violent. Megan is not an argumentative person. She’s not finna sit and argue with [nobody]. She is not gonna sit and be negative,” she said over Instagram Live. Asian Doll then called out people policing Megan every move over these last few days.
JoJo also took to Twitter where she revealed that she has taken Lanez off upcoming deluxe edition of her album, good to know. The Canadian artist was originally featured on the track, “Comeback.” Kehlani previously shared that she pulled his verse from her single “Can I” from the deluxe version of her album, It Was Good Until It Wasn't, as well.

More people are continuing to speak up in defense of Megan. In response, the hashtag #ProtectBlackWomen became a trending topic on Twitter.
“The percentage of black men who respect black women is so painfully low and it shows everyday,” singer Justine Skye tweeted out amid the discourse.
Longtime Hot 97 host Ebro Darden questioned “why are people acting like they didn’t know Tory shot Megan?”
Megan Thee Stallion’s revelation comes hours after the Los Angeles Times reported that the district attorney’s office is considering whether to file additional felony assault charges against Lanez, whose real name is Daystar Peterson.
The 27-year-old was initially arrested and charged with carrying a concealed firearm in a vehicle following the incident. After posting his $35,000 bail later that day, he is scheduled to appear in court in October.
