Steph Curry Suffered This Nasty Ankle Sprain That Left Him On Crutches Last Night

But X-rays reveal some good news.

Steph Curry rolled his right ankle last night in the kind of cringeworthy way that will make you look away.

The incident took place about a minute before his Golden State Warriors scored a 125-115 road win over the New Orleans Pelicans, when the two-time NBA MVP went for a steal.

Ouch!

The sprained ankle was bad enough to put Curry on crutches, as he exited the locker room.

Fortunately for Curry and the defending league champion Warriors, X-rays taken after the game came back negative, as reported by ESPN. That being said, The Vertical additionally reported that Curry is slated to undergo an MRI on his "very swollen" right ankle Tuesday.

"This is more on the concerned side. I shouldn't say that. It's more on the — I won't just bounce back [Tuesday] morning waking up like, 'all right, I should be whatever,' just because of swelling," Curry said after the game, as reported by ESPN. "But all things considered, I should — knowing I've been through this before on this ankle and knowing the surgical repairs from like five, six years ago are fine — I should be able to bounce back."

He added: "Thankfully [the X-rays] came back and just got to take it one day at a time and rely on the athletic training staff out there to get me back on the court as soon as possible."

As he alluded to, Curry had surgery on his right ankle in May 2011 and again in April 2012 and has played at least 78 games in each of the seasons that followed, proving that he has been durable.

That being said, it wouldn't be a surprise if Curry sits out during the Warriors' road game against the Charlotte Hornets tomorrow night for precaution.

Curry has been averaging a team-high 26.3 points per game for the Warriors (19-6) this season.
